Writing scripts using the Praat script editor can soon become cumbersome. Modern full-fledged text editors provide syntax highlighting, which means commands and special words are not formatted in the same manner as simple text. When a command is wrongly typed, the editor helps you by politely indicating the error. When you click on a parenthesis, the editor will highlight its opening/closing counterpart. This is not possible with the integrated Praat script editor.

Enters Dr. Joerg Mayer‘s Sublime Praat plugin. This wonderful tool allows you to modify and execute Praat scripts from within the ubiquitous Sublime text editor without having to navigate back to your Praat window each time. Oh, it provides syntax highlighting as well! Thanks, Joerg!
